About me

I grew up on a farm in the Eastern Cape and currently live and work on a smallholding north of Pretoria with my husband, mother, three dogs, and 16 chickens.

I've been a freelance artist and illustrator since 2010 and have contributed to over 300 textbooks and readers published in seven Southern African countries. I hold a master's degree in visual art from Unisa. I've presented four solo exhibitions and three shared solo exhibitions, and have taken part in numerous student and group shows. My preferred medium is oil painting but I also create collages and sometimes, when I'm feeling particularly ambitious,  large-scale installations.

My work often alludes to psychologically laden aspects of the human condition, and my paintings focus on intimate details of everyday life, to elevate the mundane.  When I'm not painting or drawing, I am probably tending to our jungle, having a nap, or out birding.
